First of all an update about my hosting plan. I switched from GD to DH a few weeks ago. The real motive was that the account i had on GD was a free account that was sponsored by advertisement and that even if I could hide the advertisement using some CSS trick, I could not get most things working as I wanted. – mostly .htaccess directives and the very bad ways they used subdomains or appended their script on every page or image generated – My current plan is the following one:
- 7,95 $US/month (as I do not have a huge phone bill it goes into this part of my budget + thinking of sharing it with close friends)
- 20GB HDD with a 160MB increase/week
- 1TB bandwith with a 8GB increase/week
- Shared server using debian.
- SSH access
- etc…etc…etc…
Then I decided also to keep the same domains. Clearly separating the domains into different categories each.
- nagrom.info for the “official” matters
- gaganou.com for the “personal” matters such as my personal site and pictures
- siumai.com for the “dev” matters including a CVS, this blog and some other webdav experiments.
Soon probably opening a page to enable some of you to host here. Obvisouly I will try to limit this to a few people and will price according to amount of space/bandwith used/wanted
